CCRCC Family Movie Night RecapOn Monday, November 24, the Champaign County RC Club hosted a special Family Movie Night at The Open Room in Mahomet. Families gathered to enjoy Disney’s Planes on the big screen, a perfect way to combine aviation excitement with holiday fun during Thanksgiving break. Doors opened at 5:30 p.m., and the movie began at 6:00 p.m., with free popcorn and water adding to the festive atmosphere.The evening drew a wonderful crowd of 42 people representing 14 families, making it a lively and memorable occasion. Before the film, Kaleb Spencer shared news about an upcoming CCRCC Build Day, a hands-on workshop where kids, teens, and adults will have the chance to build and fly their own RC airplane. The project will feature the FliteTest Nutball, an easy-to-build design suited for both indoor and outdoor adventures.Family Movie Night was a great success, highlighting CCRCC’s commitment to bringing members together and inspiring the next generation of aviation enthusiasts. Thanks to John and Heather Lei for leading this activity, as well as to Jeremy and Christine Henrichs for generously providing access to The Open Room.
